Devil Creek State Wildlife Area is a prime area for Merriam's turkeys and mule deer. Hunting of deer, elk & bear can be experienced. Rabbit, Abert's squirrel, dove, turkey, blue grouse, & band-tailed pigeons provide sport for small game hunting.
Vegetation is comprised of pine-oakbrush and mountain browse. This area can be described as sloping to the southeast with level valleys. Devil Creek traverses the property & has riparian vegetation of willows & cottonwoods.

Facilities: There are no facilities provided at Devil Creek State Wildlife Area.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted to visit Devil Creek State Wildlife Area.

Best Time To Visit: Devil Creek State Wildlife Area is open year-round.

Fees: There are no fees to enter a State Wildlife Refuge. There are fees to obtain fishing and hunting licenses. Please contact the Denver office for further information.

Accessibility: This area has limited handicap accessibility.

Rules: Users of wildlife areas are reminded to check current hunting, fishing, and land use regulations when planning to use an area for any purpose.

Directions: To get to Devil Creek State Wildlife Area from Pagosa Springs, travel 16 miles west on US Highway 160, then 2 miles north on Forest Service Road 627.
