Deep Creek Trail leads northwest from Telluride into the Mount Sneffels Wilderness. It crosses several streams, with no developed bridges, and then reaches Deep Creek following it a few miles north. There are some steep areas on each end of the trail.
The trail is located almost entirely in aspen timber with a few scattered spruce and fir stands. The lower elevations and southern exposure of the trail allow for earlier use than most trails in the area. There are some overlooks that provide panoramic views of the ski area and the San Juan Mountains to the south. Some waterfalls exist along the east end of the trail in Mill Creek. This trail is also open to horses and bikes.
This trail has been rated as easy with light to moderate usage. This 6.5-mile trail begins at 9,200 feet and climbs 1,500 feet in elevation.
