Unique to the park system, Colorado River State Park is actually five sections of stops along the Colorado River as it flows through the Grand Junction area. From Island Acres on the east through Corn Lake Wildlife Area, Connected Lakes and on down the river to Fruita, this remarkable park has redefined what parks are all about. The trail system winds through stands of tall trees and along the banks of this famous western river. Visitors stop along the way to enjoy fishing and picnics.
Two separate campgrounds, Island Acres and Fruita, offer over 130 campsites for any type of camper. Both campgrounds are a great place to relax or use as a base for a wide variety of area activities. They also offer a variety of day use activities including swimming, picnicking, trails, fishing and boating for hand propelled or electric powered craft. Group picnic facilities are available and may be reserved by contacting the park.

Facilities: Restrooms, picnic areas, and over 130 individual campsites are provided at Colorado River State Park.

Reservations: Reservations are accepted at Colorado River State Park.

Best Time To Visit: Colorado River State Park is open year-round.

Fees: There are a variety of fees that can be incurred when entering this state area, from a daily walking pass all the way to an annual vehicle pass. Visitors should contact this State Recreation Area to find the plan best for them.

Rules: Since rules may vary depending on which park you choose to visit, please check with the Park Manager for any other rules that may apply.

Directions: Colorado River State Park is scattered along Interstate 70. Island Acres is at Exit 47, five miles east of Palisade. To reach Fruita, from Grand Junction, exit I70 at exit 19 and then go south on Highway 340 for 1/4 mile. To reach Corn Lake take 32 Road, south of D Road at the Colorado River.
