Cochetopa State Wildlife Area runs north, straddling the Cochetopa Creek from Dome Lakes to the confluence of Los Pinos Creek. Portions of this State Wildlife Area are wildlife easements on the Coleman Ranch. This is a working ranch with cattle grazing in fields by the creek.
Fish and duck hunting are popular activities here.

Facilities: There are no facilities provided at Cochetopa State Wildlife Area.

Best Time To Visit: Cochetopa State Wildlife Area is open year-round.

Fees: There are no fees to enter a State Wildlife Refuge. There are fees to obtain fishing and hunting licenses. Please contact the Denver office for further information.

Accessibility: This area has a limited amount of handicap accessibility.

Rules: Users of wildlife areas are reminded to check current hunting, fishing, and land use regulations when planning to use an area for any purpose.

Directions: To get to Cochetopa State Wildlife Area from Gunnison, go eight miles east on Highway 50 to Highway 114 then 18 miles south to Cochetopa Creek.
