There are thirteen miles of paved City of Loveland Recreational Trail in Loveland that run from Boyd Lake State Park, in the northeast to the Big Thompson River, along Wilson Avenue. The trail winds through the west shore of Boyd Lake, along irrigation canals, through fields, over city streets, and along the Big Thompson River.

Facilities: There are no facilities available at City of Loveland Recreational Trail. Restrooms, drinking water, and picnic are provided at the State Park.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted to hike City of Loveland Recreational Trail. Reservations for campsites are accepted at this State Park.

Best Time To Visit: City of Loveland Recreational Trail is open year-round.

Fees: There are a variety of fees that can be incurred when entering this state area, from a daily walking pass all the way to an annual vehicle pass. Visitors should contact this State Recreation Area to find the plan best for them.

Accessibility: The first fives miles of this trail are accessible.

Directions: To get to City of Loveland Recreational Trail from Greeley, Fort Collins, and Loveland, start on I-25 and take exit 257B (Highway 34 West) to Madison Avenue. Take a right on Madison and follow the State Park signs.
