Best Time To Visit: Chipeta Lakes State Wildlife Area is open year-round. Fees: There are no fees to enter a State Wildlife Refuge. There are fees to obtain fishing and hunting licenses. Please contact the Denver office for further information. Accessibility: This area is handicap accessible. Rules: Users of wildlife areas are reminded to check current hunting, fishing, and land use regulations when planning to use an area for any purpose. Directions: To get to Chipeta Lakes State Wildlife Area from Montrose, go 3 miles south on Highway 550 to Chipeta Drive, then turn right and go north 0.5 miles to the property on the right. |
