Directions: To get to Chalk Creek to Browns Creek from Salida: Travel on CO-291 to Highway 285, travel to Chalk Creek. Travel west from Nathrop on County Road 162, for approximately 6.5 miles. An information kiosk and parking area is located on the right side of County Road 162. Across from the kiosk is County Road 291. County Road 291 drops steeply to the left of County Road 162. Take County Road 291 down to the Colorado Trail trailhead. Camping is not permitted at the trailhead.
