From Junco Lake Trailhead, the Caribou Trail follows Meadow Creek for about two miles. At the Columbine Lake Trail intersection, the Caribou Trail splits off of the creek as it climbs across the western face of Santanta Peak, to Caribou Pass. After crossing Caribou Pass, the trail crosses the northern face of Mount Neva. Along the way, you'll be treated to spectacular views overlooking Columbine and Caribou Lakes. The trail tops out at 12,100 feet, as it crosses the Continental Divide just above Lake Dorothy.
This 4.4 miles trail is rated as "more difficult". It receives light usage, and its highest elevation is 12,100 feet.
