The Camp Hale Memorial Campground is located within the boundaries of the White River National Forest at an elevation of 9,200 feet. This campground offers 21 individual camping sites within an area that was once a training ground used by the military during World War II. There are many hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails within this area. Maximum RV/trailer length is 60 feet.

Facilities: Restrooms, fire grills, picnic tables, and drinking water are provided at Camp Hale Memorial Campground.

Reservations: Reservations are not accepted for Camp Hale Memorial Campground.

Best Time To Visit: Camp Hale Memorial Campground is open from May through September.

Fees: An overnight camping fee will apply.

Accessibility: This campground is not handicap accessible.

Rules: Pets must be restrained or on a leash at all times while in developed recreation areas.

This campground is located within the White River National Forest; forest regulations apply.

Directions:  To reach Camp Hale Memorial Campground from Vail, take I-70 west to the Minturn exit (#171). Follow Highway 24 south, through the town of Minturn, and continue 14 miles from the interstate to a valley opening. Turn onto the second major turnoff for Camp Hale, on the left (east) side, marked by stone pillars. Follow the road to the immediate right, travel straight for 1 mile. The campground and picnic site is adjacent to a pond.

From Leadville Follow Highway 24 south, continue from the interstate to a valley opening. Turn onto the second major turnoff to the immediate right, travel straight. The campground and picnic site is adjacent to the pond.
