The Blue Grouse Trail, located within the Golden Gate Canyon State Park, is 0.7 miles long and rated as "easy". The elevation is 8,700 feet. This trail sees heavy usage. Pets are allowed on this trail.
Only 30 miles away from Denver, 12,000 acres of Golden Gate Canyon State Park awaits visitors with hiking, picnicking and camping among dense forest, rocky peaks and aspen-filled meadows. The mountain splendor of Golden Gate Canyon's wildflower meadows, autumn colors and views from the famous Panorama Point of over 100 miles of the Continental Divide make the park ideal for sightseers and photographers.
Miles upon miles of mountain trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding and 155 campsites make Golden Gate Canyon accessible to everyone. Golden Gate Canyon is a great place for young anglers and fall color viewing. The park has also hosted countless weddings and other special celebrations at Panorama Point.

Facilities: Restrooms, drinking water, picnic areas, and over 150 campsites are available at the Golden Gate Canyon State Park.

Reservations: Reservations are accepted for the campground.

Best Time To Visit: Blue Grouse Trail is open year-round.

Fees: A parking fee may be charged.

Accessibility: This trail is not handicap accessible.

Directions: To reach Blue Grouse Trail from Denver, travel west on State Highway 58 to Golden. Take Highway 93 north from Golden one mile to Golden Gate Canyon Road. Turn left and continue for 13 miles to the park.

To reach Blue Grouse Trail from Boulder, travel south on State Highway 93 to Golden Gate Canyon Road. Turn right and continue for 13 miles to the park.
To reach Blue Grouse Trail from Idaho Springs, travel on US Highway 6 to Golden. Take Highway 93 north from Golden one mile to Golden Gate Canyon Road. Turn left and continue for 13 miles to the park.
