The Avalanche Family Campground is located south of Carbondale on Avalanche Creek at an elevation of 7,400 ft. This site provides easy access to the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness and many backcountry recreation opportunities. Thirteen sites are available for trailers under 16 ft. and tents. The road that accesses Avalanche Campground is a dirt road with a small stream crossing.
