| Facilities: Restrooms and picnic areas can be found at any one of the five campsites in Arkansas Headwaters State Recreation Area. Reservations: Reservations are accepted from early April through late September for Arkansas Headwaters State Recreation Area. For the remainder of the year, the park uses the "first-come, first-serve" rule. Best Time To Visit: Arkansas Headwaters State Recreation Area is open year-round. Fees: There are a variety of fees that can be incurred when entering this state area, from a daily walking pass all the way to an annual vehicle pass. Visitors should contact this State Recreation Area to find the best plan for them. Directions: Arkansas Headwaters State Recreation Area has five point campgrounds and is located off US Highway 50 at mile marker 260 between the towns of Canon City and Cotopaxi. The road has a major acceleration/deceleration lane and is well marked with signs on the Highway. |
