Andrews Lake State Wildlife Area is located in San Juan County at the elevation of 10,744 feet. It contains an 8.0 surface-acre lake that has an average depth of 13 feet. Hiking is popular here, with a trailhead at the parking lot. The habitat is a sub-alpine to alpine zone. The area surrounding the lake is public land with good, easy access by passenger car.

Facilities: Restrooms are provided at Andrews Lake State Wildlife Area.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted to visit Andrews Lake State Wildlife Area.

Best Time To Visit: Andrews Lake State Wildlife Area is open year-round.

Fees: There are no fees to enter a State Wildlife Refuge. There are fees to obtain fishing and hunting licenses. Please contact the Denver office for further information.

Accessibility: This area is handicap accessible.

Rules: Users of wildlife areas are reminded to check current hunting, fishing, and land use regulations when planning to use an area for any purpose.

Directions: To get to Andrews Lake State Wildlife Area from Durango, travel 39 miles north on US Highway 550 to the access road, then east (right) 0.5 miles.
