Coal Camp Trail

Coal Camp Trail, a self-guided tour, starts just outside the Visitor's Center where you can pick up a brochure that follows the numbered black and white posts. The trail loops through the old Sugarite Coal Camp, with a half-mile branch that ascends to the mine entrances. This portion of the trail is steep, but the views are worth it, and there are many interesting ruins at the top. The coal camp is a historic site, so do not remove any materials from the trail or old town site.
