Hat Creek Campground is located in a forest next to Hat Creek. It has 43 sites with an elevation of 4,300. This campground is also along the Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway.
This area has activities available such as, for hiking, camping, picnicking, wildlife observation and natural history are many. There are lava tubes, dormant and extinct volcanoes, lava flows and fault lines. For recreational activities on the lake, it offers fishing, swimming and boating.

Directions: To get to Hat Creek Campground from Susanville take Hwy. 36 to Hwy 44. From Hwy 44 continue onto Hwy.89 north for 21 miles. When Hwy 89 and Hwy299 merge drive 2 miles across a bridge then turn right to the campground.
