Wentworth Springs Campground is located high in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains at a lofty elevation of 6,200 feet. The campground offers 8 campsites suitable for tent camping.
The campground is relatively remote so emergency medical aid is not readily available. A well stocked first aid kit is a necessity.
The road going into the campground is rough. 4-wheel drive vehicles are recommended. 2-wheel drive pickups can make it provided they have ample ground clearance.
Piped drinking water is not available at the campground so campers are encouraged to bring their own. Loon Lake is located nearby, but water should be treated or boiled before use.


Facilities: Wentworth Springs Campground has no piped drinking water so come prepared. Loon Lake and a few streams are located nearby; however water should be treated or boiled before use. Vault toilets are available in the campground. Picnic tables and fire rings are located throughout the premises.

Best Time To Visit: Wentworth Springs Campground is generally accessible between mid-June and mid-October. These dates may be affected by snow conditions.

Fees: No fees are charged.

Accessibility: Unknown

Rules: Maximum length of stay is 14 days out of every 30 days. Please keep family pets on a leash at all times. Campfire restrictions may be put into affect.

Directions: To reach Wentworth Springs Campground from Sacramento, travel east on Interstate 50 for about 60 miles and turn left at Ice House Road.

Head northeast on Ice House Road and travel for about 24 miles. Turn left onto Wentworth Springs Road (it will be the third intersection with Wentworth Springs Road you come to over the course of Ice House Road) and continue north for 5 miles.
The road will turn eastward. Continue to follow it for approximately 4.5 miles. Wentworth Springs Campground will be located on the left-hand side of the road.
