Upper Grays Meadow Campground sits at an elevation of 5,900 feet on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada. The campground is inundated with the sound of Independence Creek as it twists its way through the sagebrush and wild roses that cover the grounds.
Upper Grays Meadow Campground offers 34 campsites under the copious shade of cottonwoods, oaks, and river willows which also provided moderate privacy between campsites.
Rainbow, brown, and brook trout can be caught in Independence Creek.


Facilities: Upper Grays Meadow Campground has piped drinking water and flush toilets available on the premises. Tables and grills are located throughout the campground.
Firewood is available for a fee.

Best Time To Visit: Upper Grays Meadow Campground is open seasonally, from mid-April to mid-October.

Fees: Camping fees are charged.

Accessibility: Unknown

Rules: Maximum length of stay is 14 days out of every 30 days. Family pets must be kept on leashes at all times. Campfire restrictions may be put into affect depending on conditions. Please store food properly and do not feed wildlife.

Directions: To reach Upper Grays Meadow Campground from Independence, head west on Market Street (becomes Onion Valley Road) for 6.1 miles. Upper Grays Meadow will be on the right-hand side of the road.
