Encanto Park
This park offers picnic sites, swimming, boating and hiking trails. The park also features tennis, basketball, racquetball and volleyball courts.

Historic Heritage Square
Historic Heritage Square is a striking remnant of Phoenix's Victorian past. It is one of the Phoenix Points of Pride.

North Mountain Park
This park accesses more than 7,000 acres of the Phoenix Mountains Preserve. It has plenty of picnic ramadas, and a trail that is very popular.

Papago Park
Besides Papago buttes and an extensive trail system, Papago Park also includes the Phoenix Zoo, the Desert Botanical Garden, Papago Golf Course, and a sports complex. Both the Zoo grounds and the botanical gardens are excellent places to study wildlife including many native, non-captive yet approachable species.

South Mountain Park
The 16,500-acre park is home to more than 300 species of plant life and a variety of fauna, including rabbits, foxes, coyotes, snakes, lizards, and birds and offers picnic areas and Ramadas, hiking trails, and spectacular lookouts.
