Airplane Flat Campground
This campground rests in an open stand of ponderosa pine with forest and meadow views. Fishing for trout in the nearby Canyon Creek is a popular activity here.

Horseshoe Campground
Horseshoe campground is located along the Verde River and has 12 single sites. This campground is for the primitive camper.

Mesquite Campground
This campground has 12 single sites located along the Verde River, for the primitive camper. The area is a good spot for bird watching, some of the birds seen include bald eagles and great blue herons.

Needle Rock Campground
This campground has 10 single site located near a rocky beach on the Verde River. This campground is for the primitive camper.

Upper Canyon Creek Campground
This campground rests in ponderosa pine and has dispersed campsites. This campground is for the primitive camper.

Valentine Ridge Campground

Verde River
This river is one of Arizona's major perennial rivers and a treasured resource in the central part of the state. Free flowing for most of its length, it provides lush riparian habitat, abundant wildlife, diverse recreational opportunities, and spectacular scenery. The majority of the upper and lower Verde River passes through National Forestlands that is open to public recreation of all kinds. Fishing, boating, swimming, picnicking, camping, bird watching, and sightseeing are all popular activities. The lower river is designated a Wild and Scenic River and offers the opportunity to fish by boat from Beasley Flats to Childs.
