The Hermit Trail
The difficult 9-mile trail is a route to the Hermit Rapids, some of the largest rapids along the Colorado River. The hike begins at 6,640 feet elevation, and then descends to 2,400 feet. The trail is steep and unmaintained. Experienced hikers only! Access is at the south rim of the Grand Canyon National Park.

This trail leads north from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon along East Rim Drive to the Kaibab Suspension Bridge across the Colorado River. The trail twists and turns nearly six and a half miles descending 4,720 feet.

Kaibab National Forest
Bordering both the north and south rims of the Grand Canyon, the 1.6 million acres of the Kaibab National Forest has the distinction of being divided by one of Nature's greatest attractions. The Kanab Creek Wilderness lies in the southwestern corner of the North Kaibab Ranger District and abuts the western edge of the Kaibab Plateau. A number of trails lead into this rather hostile environment but many are poorly marked and infrequently maintained.

Bright Angel Trail
Bright Angel Trail is the "world's most famous footpath". It is a wide pathway lined with rocks along much of its distance. This well-maintained trail is a well defined hiking trail. Elevation change is 4,420 feet along this 9.5-mile trail. Access is at the south rim of the Grand Canyon National Park.

Navajo Trail
This trail is an old Indian and sheepherding trail. This 12 miles trail has been rated as "moderate".

North Kiabab Trail
Elevation from rim to river is 5,841 ft, along the 14.5 mile trail strenuous. This trail is maintained and well marked. Located at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon National Park.

Ranger Trail
This trail is located within the Kanab Creek Wilderness. This is an easy to moderate 17 mile trail.

Rim Trail
The Rim Trail stretches from Pipe Creek Vista west to Hermits Rest, a distance of approximately twelve miles, and most off the trail is s paved. The trail is in the Grand Canyon National Park along the south rim.

Snake Gulch Trail
This trail winds past multi-colored cliffs, red and yellow painted pictographs, and a few old homesteads. This 21.5 mile trail has been rated as "easy".
