Prescott National Forest
The 1.25 million acres of the Prescott National Forest are located in the mountains of central Arizona. Forest ctivities include camping, picnicking, fishing, hunting, scenic drives, nature photography, mountain climbing, hiking, and horseback riding. The forest contains 10 campgrounds, 4 group reservation campgrounds, 7 picnic areas, and 2 group reservation picnic areas. Nearly 450 miles of scenic trails for hiking, backpacking, horseback riding, or mountain biking are offered on the Prescott National Forest.

Fain Park
This park contains 100 acres; 50 of which are a recreational site for hiking, picnicking, fishing for trout in Fain Lake, gold panning, and exploring historical sites.

Goldwater Lake
Goldwater Lake is a popular fishing spot. Species include trout, largemouth bass, crappie, sunfish and channel catfish. Goldwater Lake is a 15-acre lake with dock and boat launch.

Granite Basin Lake
Granite Basin Lake is not stocked with fish. Although fishing is usually rated as only fair to poor, the patient angler can often catch bluegill, largemouth bass, or catfish.

Lynx Lake
Lynx Lake is a man-made lake of approximately 55 surface acres and is periodically stocked with trout. Lynx Lake is an ideal place for boating, kayaking, and fishing.

Lynx Lake Recreation Area
Lynx Lake Recreation Area is one of the most popular recreation areas in central Arizona. The area is common for trout fishing, boating, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, archaeological sites, and bird watching. The lake is stocked with rainbow trout. Rental boats, picnic tables, toilets, and drinking water are available.

Mingus Lake
This lake is located in ponderosa pines and has Rainbow Trout in it.During dry years, the lake may not have enough water for fish.

Watson Lake
Watson Lake, known as a "Mini Lake Powell," is a great spot for kayaking, sailing, fishing and daydreaming. Watson Lake offers fishing for largemouth bass, crappie, sunfish, and channel catfish as well as a boat ramp, floating dock and seasonal boat rentals.

Verde River
This river is one of Arizona's major perennial rivers and a treasured resource in the central part of the state. Free flowing for most of its length, it provides lush riparian habitat, abundant wildlife, diverse recreational opportunities, and spectacular scenery. The majority of the upper and lower Verde River passes through National Forestlands that is open to public recreation of all kinds. Fishing, boating, swimming, picnicking, camping, bird watching, and sightseeing are all popular activities. The lower river is designated a Wild and Scenic River and offers the opportunity to fish by boat from Beasley Flats to Childs.
