Bobtail Ridge Trail

The difficult 3.3-mile Bobtail Ridge Trail begins at 5,640 feet elevation, before climbing to over 7,000 feet. This trail offers stunning panoramic views, as the trail travels through several vegetation types. At the higher elevations, Ponderosa Pine, White Fir, Douglas Fir, and large Manzanita can be seen.

Facilities: There are no facilities along the Bobtail Ridge Trail.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted to use Bobtail Ridge Trail.

Best Time To Visit: Bobtail Ridge Trail is open spring through fall.

Fees: No fees are charged.

Accessibility: This area is not handicap accessible.

Rules: If you PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT!

Directions: To reach Bobtail Ridge Trail from Apache Junction, take US Hwy 60 to Globe. From Globe drive south on Forest Route 112 for about 3.5 miles to Forest Route 55. From 55 turn southwest and travel on 55 to its junction with Forest Route 651. Follow 651 until it ends near the Bobtail Ridge trailhead.
