The 900 acres of Sunrise Lake, at 9,100 feet elevation, is located 30 miles east of Pinetop on paved roads. Sunrise is one of the largest and best trout lakes and, with other lakes close by, there's never a dull day of fishing. Some of the fish grow into the 15-20-inch range. New slot limit and bait restrictions state that trout 12-16 inches must be released. Both trolling and shore fishing are excellent. Sunrise may get a bit breezy because it doesn't have the wooded areas to break the wind.
