Workman Creek is 10 miles long, starting in the Sierra Ancha Wilderness Area at about 7000 feet, then descending to its confluence with Salome Creek in the Salome Wilderness Area at 5500 feet. AZ Game and Fish Department regularly stocks this creek.
They stock below the waterfall twice during early summer. Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout are the game fish that can be found in the creek, while a population of Speckled Dace and Longfin Dace, native fish, can be found in the lower reaches of the creek. Above the falls exists a small naturally reproducing population of Rainbow Trout. Most fishing takes place between the falls and State Highway 288.
