White Hills Route has scenery that varies from grasslands to pinyon pine and some riparian habitat associated with the East Verde River. This route is located near the Mazatzal Wilderness Area. Thunderstorms and the resulting runoff can raise the water level of the East Verde River greatly in a short amount of time.

The route starts on Forest Road 209 and travels south the junction with Forest Road 209A. Take Forest road 209A south, across the East Verde River, to the junction with Forest Road 406. The route ends here.

Check current/forecasted weather conditions and the ranger district before using as recent snows can cause problems with the road surface conditions. This route is 10.25 miles long and has a more difficult rating. Mountain biking is the tolerable means by which to negotiate this route.
