Midnight Trail is a little used but useful connecting trail in the Mazatzal Wilderness Area. It connects Willow Trail with the Red Hills Trail.
This trail is 2.2 miles long and has a moderate rating. Hiking and horseback riding are permitted on this trail.

Facilities: Midnight Trail provides a corral at the trailhead. Gas, food, and lodging can be found in Payson.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted for Midnight Trail.

Best Time To Visit: Midnight Trail is open spring through fall, depending on the weather.

Fees: No fee is charged.

Accessibility: Unknown

Rules: Neither motorized or mechanized transport are permitted on this trail. The maximum group size is 15; the maximum amount of saddle or pack animals of any kind is 15 per group.

Directions: To reach Midnight Trail from Payson, travel west on Main Street (becomes Forest Road 406) 5 1/2 miles (after turning off State Highway 87) towards the East Verde River. Turn left on Forest Road 3414. Follow this road 6 miles to a parking area and corral. From here travel west on North Peak Trail to its end. To reach the north access travel north on the Mazatzal Divide Trail to its intersection with Red Hills Trail. Go west on Red Hills Trail to its intersection with Midnight Trail. The south access can be reached by trekking west on Willow Trail to its intersection with Midnight Trail.
