Cottonwood Trail roves over low ridges and through drainages until it plunges into Cottonwood Canyon. Then it journeys up the canyon and intersects with Forest Road 341 that serves as the trail.
Turn left onto Forest Road 341 and trek south for 1.5 miles. The trail takes off from the road to the south and continues to follow Cottonwood Canyon. After 3 miles, the trail arrives at the southern end at Forest Road 83.
This trail is 4.5 miles long, receives light use, and has an easiest rating. Hiking and horseback riding are permitted on this trail.

Facilities: there are no facilities provided at Cottonwood Trail. Gas, food, and lodging can be found in Globe and Apache Junction.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted at Cottonwood Trail.

Best Time To Visit: Cottonwood Trail is open year round.

Fees: No fee is charged.

Accessibility: Unknown

Rules: Motorized vehicles are not permitted on this trail.

Directions: To reach Cottonwood Trail Frazier Trailhead from Apache Junction, travel northeast on State Highway 88 to State Highway 188. Then take State Highway 188 for 2 miles east to Forest Road 173. This road is on the south side of highway and just west of a power substation.

To reach Cottonwood Trail Forest Road 83 Terminus from Apache Junction, travel northeast on State Highway 88 to Forest Road 83 and drive approximately 3.3 miles to the trail connection. The trail begins on the north side of the road.
