Cavalry Trail is located in the Superstition Wilderness Area and crosses the LaBarge Canyon to Boulder Canyon. It can be difficult to locate at creek crossings.
This trail is 3.2 miles and has an easy rating. Hiking and horseback riding are permitted on this trail.

Facilities: There are no facilities provided at Cavalry Trail. Gas, food, and lodging can be found in Apache Junction.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted for Cavalry Trail.

Best Time To Visit: Cavalry Trail is open year round.

Fees: No fee is charged.

Accessibility: Unknown

Rules: Neither motorized or mechanized transport are permitted on this trail. The maximum group size is 15; the maximum amount of saddle or pack animals of any kind is 15 per group.

Directions: To reach Cavalry Trail south end from Apache Junction, travel 3.5 miles north on State Highway 88 to Forest Road 78 (near Mile Marker 200). Turn right and follow this road 3 miles. Horse-trailers parking are on the left 0.5 miles before reaching the main trailhead. Take Dutchman's Trail east to its intersection with Cavalry Trail.

To reach Cavalry Trail north end from Apache Junction, travel northeast on State Highway 88 for 15 miles to the Canyon Lake Marina. Their parking lot may be utilized, with the trail access located on the south side of the highway. Take Boulder Canyon Trail south to its intersection with Cavalry Trail.
