Smoki Museum

Mission statement: To promote an understanding and an appreciation for the prehistoric, historic and contemporary Indian cultures of the Southwestern United States, with particular emphasis on the Prescott region, through the Museum's collections, interpretive exhibits and special programs.
Smoki Museum is patterned after early Pueblo structures both in architecture and interior design. The museum contains artifacts and documents pertaining to Native American pre-history as well as Prescott history. Ceramics, baskets, beaded ornaments, clothing, jewelry and paintings are among the items displayed.

Facilities: Facilities are available at Smoki Museum.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed to visit. However, docent-led tours are available for adult and school groups. Call to inquire.

Best Time To Visit: Smoki Museum is open Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm, and on Sundays from 1 to 4 pm.

Fees: Admission fees are charged for adults, seniors, and students. Children 12 & under are admitted free of charge. Membership is available.

Accessibility: Access is available, park in rear parking lot.

Rules: No food or drink permitted inside museum buildings.

Directions: To reach the Smoki Museum from the Courthouse Plaza in Prescott, take Gurley Street east and turn north (left) at the stoplight at Gurley and Arizona Street. On Arizona Street, drive approximately 100 yards to the Smoki Museum - the second stone building on the right-hand side.
