Campaign Trail is a very scenic but little used trail in the Superstition Wilderness Area. It parallels Campaign Creek, which is prone to flooding, and then climbs over to the west fork of Pinto Creek.
The trees along the riparian zone are very unique. This trail is 8.1 miles and has a moderate rating. Hiking and horseback riding are permitted on this trail.

Facilities: There are no facilities provided at Campaign Trail. Gas, food, and lodging can be found in Apache Junction.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted for Campaign Trail.

Best Time To Visit: Campaign Trail is open spring through fall, depending on the weather.

Fees: No fee is charged.

Accessibility: Unknown

Rules: Neither motorized or mechanized transport are permitted on this trail. The maximum group size is 15; the maximum amount of saddle or pack animals of any kind is 15 per group.

Directions: To reach Campaign Trail south end from Apache Junction, travel east on U.S. Highway 60 to Superior. Go east from Superior on U.S. Highways 60 4 miles past "Top-of-the-World." Turn left on the paved Pinto Valley Mine Road 287 (east of the Pinto Creek Bridge). This road is through a mining area and is often confusing. Follow this road 6.5 miles to the Miles Ranch Road 287A turn-off. Turn left on this road for 5.6 miles to the trailhead. Take West Pinto Trail west to its intersection with Campaign Trail.

To reach Campaign Trail north end from Apache Junction, travel northeast on State Highway 88 to State Highway 188. Take State Highway 188 southeast to the Cross P Ranch Road 449 turn-off. Turn left and follow this road 2 miles, turn left onto Forest Road 449A and drive 8 miles to the trailhead.
