Little Saddle Trail is a pleasant and scenic trek in the Mazatzal Wilderness Area. It can be difficult to find where this trail starts on State Highway 87.
This trail is 3.5 miles long and has a moderate rating. Hiking and horseback riding are permitted on this trail.

Facilities: Little Saddle Trail provides a corral at one of its trailheads. Gas, food, and lodging can be found in Payson.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted for Little Saddle Trail.

Best Time To Visit: Little Saddle Trail is open spring through fall, depending on the weather.

Fees: No fee is charged.

Accessibility: Unknown

Rules: Neither motorized or mechanized transport are permitted on this trail. The maximum group size is 15; the maximum amount of saddle or pack animals of any kind is 15 per group.

Directions: To reach Little Saddle Trail from Payson, travel south on State Highway 87 to Forest Road 25. Either go west on Forest Road 25 to the northern trailhead, or continue south on State Highway 87 a couple miles to the southern trailhead which is located just off of the highway.
