Jug Trail was an old jeep road. It winds the length of the ridges south of Salome Mountain progressively descending towards Salome Creek where it dead-ends.
This trail is 2 miles long, receives moderate use, and has a more difficult rating. Hiking and horseback riding are permitted on the trail.

Facilities: There are no facilities provided at Jug Trail. Gas, food, and lodging can be found in Young.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted at Jug Trail.

Best Time To Visit: Jug Trail is open year round, depending on the weather.

Fees: No fee is charged.

Accessibility: Unknown

Rules: No motorized or mechanized transport may be used on this trail. The maximum group size is 15 people, and the maximum amount of pack or saddle animal is also 15 per group.

Directions: To reach Jug Trail from Payson, travel northeast on State Highway 260 to State Highway 288. Take State Highway 288 south past Young to Forest Road 60. Travel west on Forest Road 60 for 17 miles. The trail head is on the north side of the road.
