Horton Springs Trail is situated in pine and fir, with wildflowers in the spring. This trail was use by "Babe" Haught and Zane Grey to reach hunting grounds on the Mogollon Rim. Along the trail are some excellent views of the area.
This trail is 1.5 miles long, receives moderate use, and has a most difficult rating. Hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders are permitted, but mountain biking and horseback riding are not recommended on this trail.

Facilities: There are no facilities available at Horton Springs Trail. Gas, food, and lodging can be found in Payosn.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted at Horton Springs Trail.

Best Time To Visit: Horton Springs Trail is open spring through fall, depending on the weather.

Fees: No fees are charged.

Accessibility: Unknown

Rules: Motorized vehicles are not permitted on this trail. Horseback riding and mountain biking are not recommended on this trail.

Directions: To reach Horton Springs Trail from Payson, travel northeast on State Highway 260 to Forest Road 300. Take Forest Road 300 west 15.7 miles, where the sign for the trail is located on the south side of the road.
