Six Shooter Canyon Trail

Six Shooter Canyon Trail is a very difficult, 6-mile trail, climbing to 7,560 feet at its highest point. When the creek flows, small waterfalls can be seen along the trail at several locations. The trail is a continuous climb through several life zones showing changes in vegetation according to elevation and aspect of the slope. The trail offers impressive views of Miami, Globe and the surrounding area.

Facilities: There are no facilities available at Six Shooter Canyon Trail.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted at Six Shooter Canyon Trail.

Best Time To Visit: Six Shooter Canyon Trail is normally open spring through fall.

Fees: No fees are charged.

Accessibility: This area is not handicap accessible.

Directions: To get to Sixshooter Canyon Trail from Apache Junction: start out US-60 to Globe. From Globe: Travel south on Forest Road 222 to the Icehouse Civilian Conservation Corp Campground.
