West Fork Trail is a short trail in the Mazatzal Wilderness Area. It connects the Thicket Spring Trail to the west fork of Sycamore.
This trail is .5 mile long and has a difficult rating. Hiking and horseback riding are permitted on this trail.


Facilities: There are no facilities provided at West Fork Trail. Gas, food, and lodging can be found in Payson.

Best Time To Visit: West Fork Trail is open spring through fall, depending on the weather.

Fees: No fee is charged.

Accessibility: Unknown

Rules: Neither motorized or mechanized transport are permitted on this trail. The maximum group size is 15; the maximum amount of saddle or pack animals of any kind is 15 per group.

Directions: To reach West Fork Trail from Payson, travel southwest on State Highway 87 to Forest Road 201 and go north on that road for 7 miles to its end. This road gets progressively rougher and may require 4WD. Not recommended for horse-trailers or sedans. Take Cornucopia Trail south to its intersection with Thicket Spring Trail. Go south on Thicket Spring Trail to its junction with West Fork Trail.
