Oak Flat Trail is located in the Four Peaks Wilderness Area. It is steep and badly eroded, and travels through chaparral-covered slopes up to Four Peaks Trail.
This trail is 1.8 miles long, receives very light use, and has a most difficult rating. Hiking and horseback riding are permitted on this trail.

Facilities: There are no facilities provided at Oak Flat Trail. Gas, food, and lodging can be found in Apache Junction.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted at Oak Flat Trail.

Best Time To Visit: Oak Flat Trail is open year round, as the weather permits.

Fees: No fee is charged.

Accessibility: Unknown

Rules: Neither motorized or mechanized transport are permitted on this trail. The maximum group size is 15; the maximum amount of saddle or pack animals of any kind is 15 per group.

Directions: To reach Oak Flat Trail from Apache Junction, travel east on State Highway 88 to State Highway 188. Take State Highway 188 northwest to Forest Road 445. Turn left and follow this road 6 miles to the trailhead. A high-clearance vehicle is recommended; a 4WD maybe needed near the trailhead.
