Fisher Trail

Fisher Trail passes through a nice stand of trees in the Mazatzal Wilderness Area. Parts of this trail are steep and especially rocky. It is 3.3 miles long and has a difficult rating. Hiking and horseback riding are permitted on this trail.

Facilities: There are no facilities provided at Fisher Trail. Gas, food, and lodging are available in Payson.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted for Fisher Trail.

Best Time To Visit: Fisher Trail is open spring through fall, depending on the weather.

Fees: No fee is charged.

Accessibility: Unknown

Rules: Neither motorized or mechanized transport are permitted on this trail. The maximum group size is 15; the maximum amount of saddle or pack animals of any kind is 15 per group.

Directions: To reach Fisher Trail from Payson, travel southwest on State Highway 87 to Forest Road 201 and go north on that road for 7 miles to its end. This road gets progressively rougher and may require 4WD. Not recommended for horse-trailers or sedans. Travel north on the Mazatzal Divide Trail to its intersection with Fisher Trail.
