The 5 acres of the Sierra Blanca Lake is at 8,500 feet elevation. Located six miles northwest of Alpine using U.S. 191 and FS 249, the last 5 miles of the Forest Service road are unpaved. Visitor's must walk-in the last quarter-mile. A primitive launch area and parking is available. Late fall is the best time to fish this small lake, as the rainbow trout may get as long as 16 inches.
