Colonel Devin Trail goes over the Mogollon Rim to the Highline Trail. Due to the fact that this trail is extremely steep and has loose footing, it is not recommended for horses or mountain bikes.
This trail is 2 miles long, receives light use, and has a most difficult rating. Over the course of 2 miles this trail has an elevation change of 2280 feet. Hikers, horseback riders, and mountain bikers are permitted on this trail.

Facilities: Colonel Devin Trail has a corral at the Washington Park Trailhead. Food, gas, and lodging can be found in Payson.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted at Colonel Devin Trail.

Best Time To Visit: Colonel Devin Trail is open from spring through fall, depending on weather.

Fees: No fee is charged.

Accessibility: Unknown

Rules: No motorized vehicles are permitted on this trail. This trail is not recommended for use by horseback riders and mountain bikers.

Directions: To reach Colonel Devin Trail north trailhead from Payson, travel north on State Highway 87 to Forest Road 300. Take Forest Road 300 east 12 miles to the north trailhead which is located on the south side of the road.

To reach Colonel Devin Trail Washington Park Trailhead from Payson, travel north on State Highway 87 to Forest Road 64. Take Forest Road 64 east to Forest Road 32. Go on Forest Road 32 north to the trailhead. The trail starts 100 yards east of the trailhead on the Highline Trail.
