Alder Saddle Trail is a dead-end spur trail from Four Peaks Trail on the east side of the Four Peaks Wilderness Area. It climbs to Alder Saddle, then stops there.
This trail is .5 mile long, receives very light use, and has a more difficult rating. Hiking and horseback riding are permitted on this trail.

Facilities: There are no facilities provided at Alder Saddle Trail. Gas, food, and lodging can be found in Apache Junction and Globe.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted at Alder Saddle Trail.

Best Time To Visit: Alder Saddle Trail is open spring through fall, depending on weather.

Fees: No fee is charged.

Accessibility: Unknown

Rules: Neither motorized or mechanized transport are permitted on this trail. The maximum group size is 15; the maximum amount of saddle or pack animals of any kind is 15 per group.

Directions: To reach Alder Saddle Trail from Apache Junction, travel northeast on State Highway 88 to State Highway 188. Drive 3.4 miles northwest on Sate Highway 188 to Forest Road 429. Turn left and follow this road 6 miles to the trailhead. Hike on Four Peaks Trail to reach Alder Saddle Trail. A 4WD vehicle is recommended for Forest Road 429.
