Williams Valley Winter Sports Area is in an area with both meadows and forests. Due to this area's diverse terrains it is an excellent place for cross country skiing, whether you're a master looking for a place to enjoy yourself or a novice looking to learn the ropes.
For snowmobilers, Forest Road 249 is also the access to a large playground of roads and trails providing over 100 miles of routes. Toboggan Hill is a great place for sleds, toboggans, and tubes because it isn't a long climb to the top and there is enough speed on the descent.

Facilities: Williams Valley Winter Sports Area provides restrooms. Food, gas, and lodging can be found in Alpine.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted for Williams Valley Winter Sports Area.

Best Time To Visit: Williams Valley Winter Sports Area when there is enough snow on the ground.

Rules: No pets on groomed trails and pack out what you pack in.

Directions: To reach Williams Valley Winter Sports Area from Springerville, travl south on U.S. Highway 191 to its junction with Forest Road 249. Take Forest Road 249 west for 4.5 miles to the winter sports area.
