 | | White Mountain Grasslands Wildlife Area is a fairly new wildlife area that was founded in 1999, with land added in 2000. Other special status species that inhabit the area include the federally endangered Southwestern Willow Flycatcher, the federally threatened Bald Eagle, and the Mexican Spotted Owl. Those special status species that potentially occur on or in close proximity to the wildlife area include the Meadow Jumping Mouse, and the Narrow-Headed Garter Snake.Other species that inhabit the area include the Northern Leopard Frog, Bobolink, Gray Catbird, American Redstart, Belted Kingfisher, Northern Goshawk, Veery, Mountain and Western Bluebirds, Golden Eagle, Northern Harrier, and Red-Tailed Hawk, Little Colorado Sucker, White Mountains Water Penny Beetle, California Floater, Springerville Pocket Mouse, Rock and Golden-Mantled Squirrel, chipmunks, Coyote, badger, Striped Skunk, and Gray Fox. |
