Saffel Canyon OHV Trail

Saffel Canyon OHV Trail treks through three distinct vegetation zones: pinon-juniper, ponderosa pine, and mixed conifer. This trail has some of the most extravagant views in the White Mountains.
This trail starts at 7600 feet and ends at an elevation 9400 feet. This trail 25 miles long and has been given a moderate rating. Only ATVs may use this trail.

Facilities: There are no facilities available at Saffel Canyon OHV Trail. Gas, lodging, and food can be found in Springerville.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted at Saffel Canyon OHV Trail.

Best Time To Visit: Saffel Canyon OHV Trail is open as weather permits.

Fees: No fees are charged.

Accessibility: Unknown

Rules: Follow national forest ATV guidelines such as don't leave designated trails or areas.

Directions: To reach Saffel Canyon OHV Trail From Springerville, travelsouth on Mountain Avenue for 1 mile. Turn right(west) on Schoolbus Road for .1 mile. Turn left(south) on Water Canyon Road(Forest Road 285) for 1.8 miles. Turn left(east) on Forest Road 74 for .9 mile. Turn right on Forest Road 74D. The trailhead is on the right.
