Luna Lake Loops

The Luna Lake Loops are two loop style trails encompassed in Ponderosa Pine. These trails are located near the Luna Lake Campground, giving easy access to those staying at that campground. For those who want to ride to Alpine, George's Lake Trail is located adjacent to the Luna Lake Loops.
The upper loop is 8 miles long and the lower loop is 2.5 miles long both are rated an easy to moderate difficulty. Both hikers and mountain bikers can use this trail.

Facilities: Luna Lake Loops is located near the Luna Lake Campground which provides drinking water and restrooms. Gas, lodging, and food can be found in the nearby town of Alpine.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted for the Luna Lake Loops.

Best Time To Visit: Luna Lake Loops is open May through October.

Fees: No fee is charged to use the trail.

Accessibility: Unknown

Rules: Follow all general bicycling guidelines; such as wear a helmet and yield to pedestrians and equestrian users.

Directions: To reach the Luna Lake Loops from Springerville, travel south on U.S. Highway 191 to Alpine. Then drive 5 miles east from Alpine on U.S. Highway 180 and turn north (left) on the Luna Lake entrance road. This gravel, all-weather road leads 1 mile to the bike trailhead marked by an international-style bike trail symbol near the campground entrance.
