Chevelon Crossing Campground, located in a canyon, rests among ponderosa pine along Chevelon Creek. This campground was originally created by the CCC or the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s.
In the creek, both Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout can be caught. There are 7 sites at this campground, vault toilets, and no drinking water.


Facilities: Chevelon Crossing Campground provides fire rings and picnic tables at every site, there are vault toilets at the campground. Gas and food can be found in Payson and Heber.

Best Time To Visit: Chevelon Crossing Campground is open year round, but receives heaviest use in spring and fall.

Fees: No fee is charged.

Accessibility: Unknown

Rules: Pack it in, pack it out. Don't leave any trash at the campground or any of its surrounding area.

Directions: To reach Chevelon Crossing Campground from Payson, travel northeast on State Highway 260 to the junction with Forest Road 300. Take Forest Road 300 to Forest Road 169, follow Forest Road 169 north to the junction of Forest Road 504, turn right and follow the road to the campground.
