The lake is an artificial fly and lure only fishery. Follow any other guidelines the forest service has posted. Directions: To reach Chevelon Canyon Lake Campground from Payson, travel east on State Highway 260 to Forest Road 300. Proceed north on Forest Road 300 to Forest Road 169. Continue north on Forest Road 169 to Forest Road 169B, turn east (right) and follow Forest Road 169B to the campground.
