Best Time To Visit: Bear Canyon Lake is open May through October, weather permitting. Fees: No fees are charged. Accessibility: Since the lake is hike-in only it is not accessible. Rules: This lake can only be fished by artificial flies and lures. Directions: To reach Bear Canyon Lake from Payson, travel northeast on State Highway 260 to Forest Road 300. Take Forest Road 300 northwest to Forest Road 89. Go on Forest Road 89 to the Bear Canyon Campground, the lake can be accessed from the campground.
