Shannon Campground is in a spruce and fir forest with the only views being those of the forest. A small stream runs nearby. Deer, bears, skunks, squirrels, and chipmunks are common to the area. Trails run from Shannon campground to Arcadia Campground. This is the most shaded and coolest of all campgrounds in the area.


Facilities: Restrooms and water are provided at Shannon Campground. Supplies are available in Safford.

Best Time To Visit: Shannon Campground is normally open May through October.

Fees: There is a fee for overnight use of the area.

Accessibility: This area is not handicap accessible.

Rules: There is a 14 day stay limit.

Directions: To get to Shannon Campground from Safford, travel south on U.S. Highway 191 to the town of Swift. Turn off onto State Route 366 and continue, as it becomes Swift Trail Road. Turn north onto Forest Road #507. Follow this road to the campground.
