Pendley Homestead Trail is a paved, level, barrier-free trail of 0.25 miles. This easy hike extends through a portion of the historic Pendley Homestead of Slide Rock State Park. The Pendley family homesteaded this area in the early 1900s, eventually becoming the largest apple producer in Oak Creek Canyon.

Features along the trail include some of the original apple orchards, the Pendley house, tourist cabins, an apple-packing barn, historic farming implements used at the homestead, a new orchard of semi-dwarf apple trees, and spectacular views of Oak Creek Canyon. Popular Slide Rock State Park can become extremely crowded in summer. Parking is easier and the atmosphere more peaceful at other times of the year.

Fees: Slide Rock State Park does require fees.

Directions: To reach Pendley Homestead Trail from Sedona, take Hwy. 89A for 7 miles north to Slide Rock State Park. Pendley Homestead Trail heads north from the parking area.
