Accessibility: This trail has no handicap access. Rules: Leashed pets are allowed. Since the trail extends into the Cedar Bench Wilderness, no mechanized vehicles, including mountain bikes, are allowed. Trail users should practice "Leave No Trace" techniques. Directions: To reach Ox Bow Trail #163 from Cottonwood, take Hwy. 260 south to Camp Verde. From Camp Verde, drive west and south on Salt Mine Rd./FR 574 for 14.5 miles to Gap Creek. Park at the locked gate and walk 0.3 miles to Cold Water Trail #27 trailhead. Take Trail #27 south 0.9 miles to Bear Grass Tank and the junction with Oxbow Trail #163. For southern access to Ox Bow Trail #163, take I-17 north of Cordes Junction and turn off at exit 268. Take Dugas Road/FR 68 to Dugas.
